The pressure to provide better auditing and governance capabilities within IT will lead to an increase in the level of integration between ID&AM and IT compliance, IT governance and security management solutions. Dynamic role management and access control is needed to deal with employee access seamlessly and automate provisioning processes. These requirements are not new, but 2008 will be the year when this technology will mature and grow. ID&AM and IRM fit together nicely; access enforcement can be performed on the application and individual file level while the ID credentials and access policy are controlled by the ID&AM solution. This technology may not become mainstream in 2008, but will certainly come to the forefront of IT security.
