Livestock husbandry fluctuated in 2010 in China. The whole feeding industry lost during the first half of this year, but returned to normal profits in the second half of 2010 thanks to the government’s policy support. This change has also accelerated the integration of livestock industry, and further increased the degree of the rearing scale. The demand of animal feed increased due to the changed rearing mode. In order to increase the market share, enhance competitiveness, large scale feed enterprises not only continued to extend their industrial chains, but also sped up the integration and enlarged the production capacity. The market prices of main feed materials such as corn, soybean meal, rapeseed meal, fish meal, feed additives, etc, all increased in 2010, especially, the price of corn rose greatly and reached an all-time high. At the background of government regulation, incremental dependence on import and anticipated economic expansion, the feed demand in China is predicted to grow and the cost of feed will also rise in the year of 2011. This report comprehensively and scientifically reviews the main changes of China’s livestock market in 2010, and forecasts the trends of China’s feed market performance in the year of 2011. This report analyzes the trends of production increase and changes of feed product structure, systematically summarizes market performances of corn, soybean meal, rapeseed meal, cottonseed meal, fish meal, DDGS, lysine and DL-Methionine in the year of 2010, from supply, demand, trade, etc. For those caring about China’s feed and livestock industry, this report provides systemic, comprehensive accurate and valuable references.
