Symantec's broad security portfolio covers all major areas of enterprise security with the exception of I&AM. Symantec's move towards IT systems management, through the Veritas merger and the Altiris acquisition, places it in a unique position to take advantage of the coming convergence between security and systems management. Although McAfee and Symantec have the broadest coverage of all vendors, they are notably absent from the I&AM area, where they chose not to offer any solutions at all. In I&AM, the dominant vendors are infrastructure vendors, namely Novell, CA, HP and IBM.
