For instance, in 2005, BAT closed its South Hampton factory, marking the end of its cigarette production in the UK. The group recorded revenues of £9,762 million during the fiscal year ended December 2006, an increase of 4.7% over 2005. This increase is due to the higher volume sales in the Latin American, African and the Middle East division.
