Paraquat, a kind of non-selective contact herbicide, has witnessed a booming market in recent years. China, as the largest paraquat producer, is playing a more and more important role in the world’s market.

In recent years, with more and more labour force flowing into cities, most chemical herbicides are gradually accepted by Chinese peasants. The growing domestic market strongly supports the fast development of China’s paraquat industry. The oversea demand for paraquat also contributes to the development of Chinese paraquat industry, which now steps into a prosperous stage.

However, there are still some challenges facing China’s paraquat industry.

On the one hand, the supply shortage of pyridine, the key raw material of paraquat technical, is the key barrier for the fast development of paraquat. Jiangsu Redsun Group has just put into the production of pyridine to relieve the tight raw material supply. What is its impact on Chinese paraquat industry? Will Chinese paraquat industry be changed by this ever since?

On the other hand, some countries have forbidden the use of paraquat because of its toxicity. Therefore, government policies are very import to the development of paraquat industry. What is the attitude of Chinese government to paraquat? Will Chinese government also forbid its use in China?
